High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore (India) has announced Recruitment Notification 2011 for the posts of Civil Judge (Junior Division) through direct recruitment. This is a good opportunity for the Law Graduates. The High Court of Karnataka will conduct Junior Civil Judge Examination for short listing the candidates for further stages of selection process. The selection process will consist of three stages (Preliminary, Main and Interviews) as described below along with number of posts, eligibility and application procedure: Civil Judges (Junior Division): 152 Posts (General-45, Women-44, Rural-39, Ex-Servicemen-17, Kannada Medium Candidates-7); Educational Qualifications: Applicants must be a holder of Law Degree in any recognised university and should have been enrolled as an Advocate. Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs.27700- 770- 33090-920-40450-1080- 44770. Age should be below 38 years. Selection of the candidates will be based on the performance in Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Viva-Voce. They will have to work on probation for 2 years. Application fee is Rs.100. Fee should be paid as DD drawn in favour of The Secretary, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore-560001. Examination fee is Rs.250 (Rs.125 for SC/ST candidates) for Preliminary Examination and Rs.500 (Rs.250 for SC/ST candidates) for Main Examination. Question Paper Pattern: The Preliminary Examination shall consist of Objective Type Question Paper with 100 marks and the syllabus for the examination is available on the website. In the Main Examination, you need to attempt 1) Translation Paper for Maximum Marks of 100. There will be one translation paper and the candidates have to translate passages in English into Kannada and Kannada into English. The Passages will be from topics related to Law. The Third stage of the recruitment, Viva-Voce will be for a maximum of 100 marks. In this paper, General Knowledge, Principles of Law will be tested. There will be another test to examine the knowledge of computer / operation of Laptop at the time of Viva-Voce. This will carry 25 marks.
